Past A Course in Miracles Conferences: 2018–2007

2018 – San Francisco, California: “Love Makes No Exceptions”

Past ACIM Conferences Conference Title: Love Makes No Exceptions
Dates: February 23–25, 2018
Venue: The Holiday Inn Golden Gateway in San Francisco, CA
Theme: “Love is incapable of any exceptions. … Fear does not gladden. Healing does. Fear always makes exceptions. Healing never does.” ACIM, T-7.V.5,6

The 2018 ACIM Conference was such a celebration of Love! Illusions were brought to truth, darkness was brought to light. David Hoffmeister shared about his love of traveling and meeting new people and sharing Jesus’ message with them. This year’s conference was also an introduction to Spiri, a spiritual assistant chatbot on Facebook. Connect with Spiri anytime you feel darkness coming up in your mind, and find the underlying conditions that cause the darkness you’re experiencing—and reach the peace and light that have been covered over! Check out David’s talks from the conference:

David Hoffmeister 2018 ACIM Conference Talk 1 – David’s 8-Minute “Panel” Introduction Talk

On the first morning of the 2018 A Course in Miracles Conference in San Francisco, eight of the presenters were asked to each speak for 8 minutes to give an introduction on what their main talk would be about. This is David’s talk, starting with a brief introduction from Rev. Tony Ponticello.

David Hoffmeister 2018 ACIM Conference Talk 2 – Practical Application of the Course

In David’s first full talk at the 2018 A Course in Miracles Conference, he emphasizes the need for practicing the principles of A Course in Miracles as consistently as you can. Simply apply the lessons without exception, while watching your mind and giving all your emotions and feelings over to Spirit. He then answers questions from the audience about spiritual community, relationships, and how to live the Course’s teachings in a practical way. Some of the questions included: “How are practical things handled in your ACIM community in Mexico?”, “When the ego disappears, is there still a sense of relationship?”, and “How can I handle the feeling of disorientation?”

David Hoffmeister 2018 ACIM Conference Talk 3 – The “Seven Tribes of ACIM” and Love Makes No Exceptions

In his second full talk at the 2018 A Course in Miracles Conference, David makes an analogy about how this conference is like a celebratory gathering among “the seven tribes of A Course in Miracles:” the five different versions of the Course, plus Way of Mastery, and A Course of Love. We have all gathered here at the base of the “mountain,” in honor of the recognition that Love makes no exceptions. Instead of focusing on differences at the level of belief, we joyfully celebrate in honor of our shared practice of forgiveness.

David Hoffmeister 2016 ACIM Conference Talk – Accepting the Atonement

David speaks to the entire conference in this Saturday morning talk about accepting the Atonement. Tony Ponticello opens the session and then introduces David. Topics include seeing beyond the ego identification and belief in an “outside” world, realizing that there are no big, small, or external upsets, mind training and transfer of training, making no exceptions, David being a devotee of Jesus, bringing darkness to light, exposing and releasing the unconscious beliefs, and a closing 20-minute Q&A session with the audience.

2015 – ACIM Conference in New York, New York: “A Present Love”

2015 ACIM ConferenceConference Title: A Present Love
Dates: April 17–19, 2015
Venue: Hotel Pennsylvania in New York, New York
Theme: “The holiest of all the spots on earth is where an ancient hatred has become A PRESENT LOVE.” Tx.Or.Ed.26.81

The 2015 ACIM Conference was a delight and certainly a shared experience of “A Present Love.” Enjoy this sampling of David Hoffmeister’s appearances at the 2015 conference:

David Hoffmeister 2015 ACIM Conference Talk 1 – You Are a Minister of God

The purpose of A Course in Miracles is to become a living demonstration of present Love. This is accomplished only by merging completely into the I-Am Presence, our true Identity as Christ.

The Course is a powerful tool for catapulting us into this experience. It guides us into the knowledge of What we Are through the release of all that we are not. It requires first that we step fully into our function as a “minister of God,” “miracle worker,” “teacher of God,” etc., and release all other self-concepts we’ve held.

When there is any hesitation or embarrassment about stepping into our function, it can seem to take the form of having resistance to certain terms like “minister for God.” But being a minister for God doesn’t mean that we need to try to be happy; it is simply a Calling to accept our function of forgiveness and be willing to go through the purification.

In the end, all self-concepts will be washed away, including the idea of “channeling” Jesus or the Holy Spirit. The full Christ-experience requires a complete merge into I-Am-ness, and leaves no room for compromise of any kind.

Jesus gave us 50 years (since the Course’s inception) to “get our feet wet,” and the time has come now to “kick it into gear” and step fully into your function!

David Hoffmeister 2015 ACIM Conference Talk 2 – Nothing Real Can Be Threatened

David’s second talk at the “A Present Love” ACIM Conference focused on the idea of only valuing the valuable. As it says in the Introduction to the Course: “Nothing real can be threatened. Nothing unreal exists. Herein lies the peace of God.” Only that which cannot be threatened has value, and nothing of this world meets that criterion. If you value anything in this world then you are actually choosing an ancient hatred (the ego) over a present Love (the Spirit). Anything that does not last forever has no value at all. Only the eternal has value, and only the eternal can be loved.

Apply this teaching to the thoughts in your mind as often as you can remember. Notice when you are valuing a future outcome, such as more money, more status, more intimacy or freedom. In the “Beyond All Idols” section of the Course, Jesus says, “What is an idol? Do you think you know?” He goes on in that section to say that an idol is for more of something, “It does not really matter more of what; more beauty, more intelligence, more wealth, or even more affliction and more pain.” T-29.VIII.8:8

Whenever you find yourself feeling anything but perfect peace and joy, it is always because the mind is wanting more of something in the future. In this moment, join with the Holy Spirit to be given your true inheritance now. God’s Will for you is perfect happiness, and perfect happiness depends only on the complete release of the illusory idea of “more.”

David Hoffmeister on “Coconut TV” with Rev. Marie Felipe – A Holy Instant with David Hoffmeister!

The holy instant is an experience of the Great Rays that are referred to in the Course—an experience of revelation where the entire perceptual universe disappears! David speaks about how joyful this experience is and how it can be called into awareness.

2013 ACIM ConferenceConference Title: A Gift of Lilies
Dates: April 26–28, 2013

The 2013 ACIM Conference was a glorious time of joining together in happiness and profound depth. Enjoy the audio recordings from David Hoffmeister’s sessions below (for more high-quality audio recordings of David, check out acim.me):

David Hoffmeister 2013 ACIM Conference Talk 1 – Trust Holy Spirit for Everything

Trust the Holy Spirit for absolutely everything! This is the key to a simple life—a life of ease and relaxation. So long as we are attempting to manage any aspects of our lives by ourselves—our finances, our relationships, our career, the raising of our children, etc.—there will always be guilt, stress, and fear. Only the Holy Spirit knows our best interests (and everyone’s best interests) in every situation. Pause for inspiration whenever you are unclear and listen for His Guidance. Then follow it. This is the way of peace.

David Hoffmeister 2013 ACIM Conference Talk 2 – The Parable of David

The parable of David Hoffmeister has been an example of unwinding from all worldly goals and ambitions into a life of pure trust and cluelessness. It has been a life of letting down all defense mechanisms and trusting that whatever is needed would show up. This has resulted in a constant state of happiness in which the concept of “problem” is not understood at all!

The way to have this experience of happiness and trust can best be described by this passage in the Course:

“Once you accept His Plan as the one function that you would fulfill, there will be nothing else the Holy Spirit will not arrange for you without your effort. He will go before you making straight your path and leaving in your way no stones to trip on, and no obstacles to bar your way. Nothing you need will be denied you. Not one seeming difficulty but will melt away before you reach it. You need take thought for nothing, careless of everything except the only purpose that you would fulfill. As that was given you, so will its fulfillment be. God’s guarantee will hold against all obstacles, for it rests on certainty and not contingency. It rests on you. And what can be more certain than a Son of God?” T-20.IV.8:4–12

2011 – ACIM Conference in San Francisco, California: “Listen, Learn & Do”

2011 ACIM ConferenceConference Title: Listen, Learn & Do
Dates: February 25–27, 2011
Venue: The Holiday Inn Golden Gateway in San Francisco, California
Theme: “You MUST join the Great Crusade to correct [lack of love]. The slogan for the Crusade is listen, learn and do: LISTEN to my voice, LEARN to undo error, and DO something to correct it.” Tx.Or.Ed.1.31

The 2011 A Course in Miracles Conference was great fun and was filled with laughter and miracles. Enjoy this video montage of photos from the conference, including a song from Helena Sjunnesson called “Sharing the Joy:”

Venue: The Holiday Inn Golden Gateway in San Francisco, California

Holy encounters abounded at the 2009 ACIM Conference!

2007 – ACIM Conference in San Francisco, California: “An Opportunity to Gladden Yourself”

Conference Title: An Opportunity to Gladden Yourself
Dates: February 23–25, 2007
Venue: The Holiday Inn Golden Gateway in San Francisco, California

The 2007 ACIM Conference was very joyful, heart-warming, and playful, and for many it was a great opportunity to release judgments and heal. Below are the audio recordings from David’s talks (read the full transcript here):

David Hoffmeister 2007 ACIM Conference Talk 1 – Accepting the Atonement for Yourself (Part 1)
David Hoffmeister 2007 ACIM Conference Talk 2 – Accepting the Atonement for Yourself (Part 2)

Enlightenment is the experience of having no grievances and giving no faith to projection. There is clarity about the metaphysics of true forgiveness and the experience of constant peace that results from transferring mind training and making no exceptions to forgiveness. Atonement is the experience that the separation never happened. Awakening is simply being present and allowing the Presence of Christ to express as a demonstration and reflection of that which is real. To simply see the false as false, in its entirety, is the perspective of forgiveness, which is the goal of all mind training.
